Iowa Bluebird Conservationists Spring Conference and Meeting will be held on April 7th at the Glenwood High School at 504 E Sharp Street in Glenwood from 9:00am-2:00pm. Speakers will include: Lora Kanning, Cass County Naturalist on Trumpeter Swans, Sandy Seibert, Bluebirds Across Nebraska President on the history of Bluebirds and why they need our help, and Denise Lewis Director of Raptor Recovery at Fontanelle Forest on their work with Raptors. Advance registration is requested but walk-ins will be welcome. Deadline for conference registration with lunch guaranteed is March 29th. Registration is $20 per person and forms can be found on the Iowa Bluebird Conservationists Facebook page or by contacting Chris Parks at or 712-520-2103. North Carolina Bluebird Society will hold its annual conference on April 27 – 28th, 2018. Details to follow.
The festival will feature information about bluebirds, with several presentations throughout the afternoon. The historic Bussard Farmstead next door will be open to visitors. In addition, there are 455 acres of rolling farmland and forest with 4 miles of hiking trails. Come to the festival to learn more about bluebirds and visit the farmhouse and animals before you leave!
